My Locomotive Inventory

I have reduced my locomotive inventory to only what was in use by the Southern Pacific between 1940 to 1960. 


The Alamogordo & Sacramento Mountain Railway and the Cloudcroft Lumber Company were early Southern Pacific ventures between 1890 and 1930 and I'm keeping them.  To view more click here.   

I have remotored all sixteen of my Rivarossi articulated locomotives.  Six have Faulhaber 2224U012SR motors, seven have dual Canon EN22 motors and three have a single Canon EN22 motor.  All but the two spare Y6Bs are wired for DCC operation and include 28 mm 8 Ω 1 watt speakers in the tenders.  All have warm white LED headlights and tender rear lights, illuminated number boards and marker lamps.  Eight are wired for DCC Function 3 control of the marker lights.  Six have 8 ounces of added weight to improved traction and increased drawbar pull.

The check marks in the DCC Column are DCC Ready.

My diesel fleet is pretty much stock from the factory.  I modified one Athearn PA-1 to house a wireless color video camera.

I also modified a Proto 1000 F7B as a Snail to push my Athearn Snow Blower.  I motorized the rotary snow blade to spin at 120 RPM, the speed of rotating blade is adjustable by adjusting the voltage regulator with a small screwdriver through the roof top exhaust.

 I have replaced my Proto 2000 E series locomotives with Athearn SD40-2 frames with Cary E7 Bodies.

My entire diesel fleet is wired for DCC operation, the DCC decoder in the Snail controls the headlight and Function 3 controls the rotary snow blade on the snow blower.

My Cary/Athearn EMD E-7s are primary for my Daylight Passenger train service.
